Waegwoltic Tennis Rules - Effective May 15th, 2011
Â
Court Time and Booking
Â
1. Both singles and doubles pairings receive equal court booking privileges.
2. Members must book (sign-up) for use of the courts. Players who have signed the court booking sheet can take off Members who have not booked a court at any time.
3. All courts can be booked by Members (14 years of age and over) for one hour for either singles or doubles play. (Minimum of two players / maximum of four players per court)
4. Any Junior not able to play tennis at a proficient level, so as to not disrupt play on adjacent courts (as determined by the Tennis Staff) may be asked to play on the hard courts until their skills improve.
5. Juniors (13 years and under) can book all courts for one half hour at any time unless they are at an exceptional level (which will be determined by the Tennis Staff). These Juniors will be allowed to play for 1 hour.
6. If there is a Junior on the court, regardless of whom they are playing with, they are limited to booking the court for a half hour at a time. (Lesson exceptions)
7. Court booking times will be recorded as the time closest to the next 5 minute.
8. Once a Members’ court time has expired, they are free to book another time period, up to one hour. If they are not being taken off at the end of their court time, they can continue until other Members books the court. Members’ cannot book an additional court time until their original time has expired.
9. Waegwoltic Staff may book courts, but may not take a court/playing opportunity from a Member.
Â
Pre-Booking Court Time
Â
10. Same-day pre-booking, by phone or directly at the Tennis Hut, will be available for courts 3 and 4 only. Booking starts at 9:00 a.m. (May and June) and at 8:00 a.m. (July and August) and continues until 9:00 p.m. Players must check in 5 minutes before the booking time. If the players have not shown up by the booking time, the court then becomes a regular court, available for booking by other Members.
11. Court cancellation must be done not less than two hours before the pre-booked time, or it will be considered a missed booking.
12. Any Member missing their pre-booked time twice throughout the season will lose pre-booking privileges.
13. No Member can have more than one court booked at one time. If a Member books and plays on any court before their pre-booked time on court 3 or 4 they will then forfeit their pre-booked time. This cancellation of their pre-booked time will be considered a missed booking if done less than two hours before the pre-booked time. Members can rebook on court 3 or 4 once they are finished playing for their booked time.
Â
