Moorings
Members may rent mooring spaces for $225.00 a year.
The following “mooring policy” was approved at the April 23rd meeting of the Waegwoltic Club Board of Directors and is effective immediately: Due to the installation of the permanent moorings in the spring of 2006 it is recommended that the following policy be approved by the Waegwoltic Club Board of Directors: It is the policy of the Waegwoltic Club that the following is the responsibility of the boat owners or Club: 1. All equipment above the water (ball and bridle) is the responsibility of the boat owner. 2. The boat owner is to ensure to their satisfaction, the safety of their boat. 3. The boat owner is to sign a waiver each year accepting all liability should something happen to their boat. 4. As of the 2007 season all members requiring moorings will not be responsible to provide their own mooring gear. The mooring gear will be provided by the Club (used or new). It is the future goal of the Club for all moorings eventually to be owned by the Waegwoltic Club. 5. The Waegwoltic Club will hire a diver annually to visually inspect the mooring gear (below the water). If it is determined that maintenance is required on the mooring gear an invoice will then be sent to the boat owner (to include parts and labour). The boat owner will then be given a choice to either pay the invoice or to donate the mooring gear to the Waegwoltic Club. If they choose to donate the mooring gear to the Club, the Waegwoltic Club will accept responsibility for the maintenance issues as stated on the invoice and for all future maintenance issues of their mooring gear. 6. If the member requires that their mooring gear be removed, it is the member’s responsibility to hire a diver to remove the mooring gear. The member will be encouraged to donate their gear to the Club if they do not wish to hire a diver. 7. The boat owner must provide current insurance information (broker, carrier, policy number) on their waiver. The tender service will have regular hours of 8:00 am until 4:00 pm until June 15th. After that date, the Boatman will be on duty from 8:00 am until 10:00 p.m. (if weather is favorable.) When you are unable to locate the Boatman, please use the radio that is available. When the tender service is not available, a small boat will be equipped with oars for your personal use.
We wish to emphasize that the Club takes no responsibility for any loss or damage (however caused) to your boat or by your boat at its mooring, or while in or about the Club's property and facilities.
All members with moorings are required to sign a waiver form, which is available at the Manager's office.
